Our Mission
Las Vegas Paiute Tribe CDC
Las Vegas Paiute Tribe Child Development Center believes a positive self-image is the key to successful learning. Our program is designed to stimulate and encourage each child to learn at their own pace, meeting their individual needs. Our staff takes great care to nurture the children as they move through each developmental stage. We focus on an educational enrichment program. The staff of the CDC embrace the philosophy that family is a child's first teacher and we are committed to working with families to establish strong communication, integrate family values and culture and share information and resources.

Tribal CCDF Grant Funded
The CDC is fully funded by a Tribal CCDF grant which allows low-income families access to child care. FREE childcare is available for eligible families.
Note: Additional hours of care (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM) may be available for parents who are working, in job training, and/or an education program. Childcare fees may be applicable and will be based on a sliding fee scale.
Eligibility Requirements
Children must meet one of the following criteria:
- Child must be a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe
- Child of a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe
- Descendant of a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe
- Must reside on or within 30 miles of the external boundaries of the Las Vegas Colony or Snow Mountain Reservation

Free Childcare Hours
Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Extended Hours Available
7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (for working parents, job training, or education programs)
Ages Served
3 years (fully toilet trained) - 12 years
Location
Las Vegas Colony, Downtown Las Vegas
Age Requirements
Ages 3 - 12 years: Children must be 3 years old and fully toilet trained. School age children (up to 12 years) must have been enrolled in the CDC pre-school program for at least 6 months to be eligible for the school age program.

Halloween Safety Tips
Stay on sidewalks. Walk, slither, and sneak on sidewalks, not in the street.
Look both ways. Check for cars, trucks, and low-flying brooms before crossing, and cross only at corners.
Be seen. Wear light-colored or reflective clothing, and add reflective tape to bikes, skateboards, or brooms.
Plan the route. Share the trick-or-treat route with family and bring an adult along if possible.
Carry a light. Use a flashlight to stay visible, and keep away from open flames and candles - costumes can be flammable.
Trick-or-treat safely. Visit homes with the porch light on, accept treats at the door, and use face paint instead of masks that cover the eyes.

Trunk or Treat & Costume Contest
Join us for trunk or treat, games, food, and a raffle on the Nature Trail behind the Child Development Center. Costumes required to enter the raffle!
Location: Nature Trail, behind the Child Development Center
RSVP Deadline: Must RSVP before October 15th
RSVP: twatanabe@lvpaiute.com with names of attendees (13+) and ages of kids (12 and under)
Details
- Check-in is required; food wristbands are given only to Tribal Citizens, spouses/partners, children, and grandchildren who RSVP. Guests may purchase food.
- First 6 Tribal Citizens to register their vehicle get 2 parking stalls to decorate along with their vehicle — must provide own treats to pass out
- Trunk or Treat winner receives a $500 cash prize
- Team relay competition (teams of 5, ages 13+) — pie eating, cow milking, cup stacking, and more; 1 challenge per person. Winning team receives $500 cash; all participants receive a cash prize. Names and ages required for registration.
- Must register for the relay & trunk decorating — RSVP to twatanabe@lvpaiute.com
