Our Mission

Committee Overview

The Education Committee consists of 7 volunteer members from the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe who meet monthly to review financial aid applications and support the educational advancement of tribal members and their descendants.

Committee Responsibilities

  • • Review financial aid applications monthly
  • • Award scholarships based on academic merit
  • • Maintain minimum 2.0 GPA requirement
  • • Support trade schools, community colleges, universities
  • • Plan educational community events
  • • Coordinate fundraising efforts

Financial Assistance

We offer a variety of funding options for your educational pursuits. Financial aid covers tuition and books.

  • Community & Junior Colleges - Associate degree programs
  • Universities - Bachelor's and advanced degrees
  • Summer School - Supplemental coursework
  • Academic Field Trips - Educational experiences

Education Assistance Agreement

Required for all financial assistance recipients. Outlines repayment terms if the program is not completed.

Community / Junior College Application

Award not to exceed $5,000 per semester. Requires 2.0 GPA. Must submit transcripts & class schedule. Apply once per semester.

Vocational Training School Application

Award not to exceed $6,000 per 6-month period for Las Vegas vocational schools. Must provide proof of acceptance and training schedule.

Academic Trip Application

Award not to exceed $1,000 per year. Includes campus tours (1 student + 1 chaperone). A one-page essay due 2–3 weeks after the trip.

Summer School Application

Award not to exceed $1,000 per year. Requires proof of registration, class schedule, and official transcripts. Must maintain a 2.0 GPA (C average or higher) to avoid repayment.
